Al Gough, who is co-writing the third installment in the Mummy film franchise with partner Miles Millar, told SCI FI Wire that the sequel will unwrap a new mummy and feature a character who is the grown son of Rick and Evie (played in the previous films by Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz). It's aiming to shoot this summer under director Rob Cohen (Stealth) for a 2008 release.
As for whether Fraser and Weisz will reprise their roles in the film, Gough said that he was confident the script is good enough to persuade them to return. "They're in negotiations," he said. "So the plan is to bring them back. I think it'll end up being Brendan and Rachel, ultimately. They're the core of the movie. That's why people love the Mummy movies. And then it's taking that and then expanding it and introducing [a] new character and a new mummy. So we're really excited to get going. We met with Rob Cohen today, and he's really jazzed to do it. So fingers crossed, God willing, we'll be shooting this summer and it'll be out in the summer of '08."

Also Die Mumie ohne Rachel Weisz ... kann ich mir garnicht vorstellen!
Ist ja total blöd!
Wie issen das dann ... spielt der der Filmsohn von den beiden dann auch nicht mehr mit und wie wollen die das erklären, er hat sich von ihr geschieden oder was?

Ich mochte sie auch super gern zusammen sehen. Da es auch schon im ersten Teil super geknistert hat und man es auch irgendwie spären konnte.
Nein, sie spielt seine Frau, die Frau, die Rachel im zweiten Teil gespielt hat. Also die Rolle, meine ich. Was mit dem Sohn nun ist, weiß ich selber nicht. 
Weiß gar nicht, ob ich mir den Film anschaue. |

Also den Film kann man aber irgendwie garnicht mehr mit den ersten beiden Filmen vergleichen, oder? Weil mir kommt das irgendwie so vor als wäre es was ganz anderes und ich meine das nicht da drauf bezogen das Rachel Weisz z.B. nicht mehr mit spielt!
Ich mein was hat denn ein Drache mit einer Mumie noch zu tun?
Irgendwie komisch ... was aber nicht heißen muss das der Film schlecht wird ... ist halt was anderes!
Und das Al Gough und Miles Millar was drauf haben und was können merkt man ja an Smallville! |

Ich habe bis jetzt jeden Mumie-Film (sind ja nur zwei ) im Kino gesehen. Beim dritten werde ich natürlich versuchen das gleiche zu machen. Leider ist der Umstand, dass Rachel Weisz nicht mehr dabei ist doch sehr störend bei der ganzen Geschichte. |

China verlangt Veränderungen bei "Die Mumie 3"
Die chinesische Regierung verlangt für den Kinostart des dritten Teils des effektvollen Fantasyspektakels "The Mummy: The Tomb of the Dragon Emperor" diverse Veränderungen. Wie variety.com berichtet, solle dies eine Voraussetzung dafür sein, dass der Film, der in China spielt und auch gedreht wurde, dort überhaupt grünes Licht für eine Veröffentlichung bekommt.
