Vin Diesel und Paul Walker kehren in die "Fast And The Furious"-Reihe zurück. Für den vierten Teil werden sie, wie einst beim Auftakt der Filmreihe "The Fast And The Furious", wieder gemeinsam vor der Kamera stehen.
Bei Teil 2 scheiterte Diesels Mitwirken an zu hohen Gehaltsforderungen des Stars. Bei Teil 3 wurde auch Walker ersetzt, Diesel hatte aber einen kleinen Cameo-Auftritt, welcher Gerüchte über ein Comeback im vierten Teil anheizte. Diese sind nun bestätigt.
Die Story von "Fast and the Furious 4" soll schon fest stehen, wird aber noch geheim gehalten. Die Dreharbeiten sollen aber schon demnächst in Los Angeles, Mexick und der Dominikanischen Republik stattfinden. Das Drehbuch stammt von Chris Morgan, Regie führt Justin Lin. Die beiden waren schon für "The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift" verantwortlich. Neal H. Moritz und Vin Diesel werden produzieren.

Moviehole is reporting that Jordana Brewster is in talks to reprise her role of Mia Toretto in The Fast and the Furious 4. Mia was the sister of Dominic (Vin Diesel) and the love interest of undercover agent Brian (Paul Walker).
The site says that in the film, set to be directed by Justin Lin, Brian is freed from prison (the authorities found out that he let Diesel go at the end of the first film) to help the feds stop a heroin importer known as Braga. With the help of an informant named James Park, Brian – and ultimately Dominic Toretto – wins a place on the criminal's team, where he – and his flashy Nissan – plan to catch the man red-handed.

"Ich denke, der Cameoauftritt in 'Tokyo Drift' hat mir einige Dinge klar gemacht. Wenn man eine Figur erschafft, mit der sich die Welt identifiziert und sie angenommen wird, dann hat man manchmal auch diese Verantwortung zu der Rolle zurückzukehren."
Diesel ist aber nicht allein. Auch Paul Walker hat für den vierten Teil der Reihe unterschrieben und wird ebenfalls zurückkehren. "Paul Walker muss einfach dabei sein", meinte Diesel lächelnd.
Der Film soll damit beginnen, dass man Brian (Walker) aus dem Gefängnis entlässt, um einen Heroin-Schmuggler namens Braga dingfest zu machen. Er war ins Gefängnis gekommen, weil er Dominic (Diesel) im ersten Film absichtlich von der Polizei fliehen ließ. Mit der Hilfe des Informanten James Park sowie Dominic und Mia, versucht Brian dem Gangster das Handwerk zu legen. Der Regisseur sowie der Drehbuchautor des dritten Teils, Justin Lin und Chris Morgan, werden ihre Aufgaben auch beim vierten Teil der Reihe wieder aufnehmen.

Vin Diesel, who stars in next Friday's Babylon A.D., told ComingSoon.net today that he is directing a 20-minute prequel to Fast and Furious, the fourth installment in the Universal Pictures franchise.
Diesel will star in the prequel along with Michelle Rodriguez reprising her role as Letty and Sung Kang returning as Han. Diesel didn't say how the prequel would premiere; it could be on a DVD, online, TV, etc.
The fourth movie is a sequel to the first installment, and though Diesel didn't elaborate, we assume this 20-minute prequel will tie-in some of the events from the second and third movies. Rodriguez appeared in the first movie, Sung Kang in the third, and Diesel in the first with a brief cameo in the third.
In the Justin Lin-directed Fast and Furious, opening June 5, 2009, fugitive ex-con Dom Toretto (Diesel) reignites his feud with agent Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker). But as they are forced to confront a shared enemy, Dom and Brian must give in to an uncertain new trust if they hope to outmanuever him. |

Universal Pictures' Fast & Furious destroyed the previous April opening record, earning an estimated $72.5 million from 3,461 theaters for a massive average of $20,950 per site. The previous record holder was Anger Management, which opened to $42.2 million in 2003. Made for about $85 million, the reunion of Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez and Jordana Brewster is the best opening of 2009 so far. The Justin Lin-directed film has made $30.1 million internationally as well, bringing its worldwide total to $102.6 million. The 2001 original The Fast and the Furious opened to $40.1 million. It was followed by 2 Fast 2 Furious in 2003 with an opening of $50.5 million, and 2006's The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (also directed by Lin), which brought in $24 million its first weekend. Their respective totals were $144.5 million, $127.1 million and $62.5 million, so Fast & Furious has already surpassed "Tokyo Drift's" total earnings!
