Warner Bros hat überraschend bekannt gegeben, dass man das geplante Superhelden-Crossover-Projekt "Justice League Of America" vorziehen werde. Der Film soll Anfang 2008 in den Dreh gehen und den Produktionsslot bekommen, der eigentlich für "Superman: The Man of Steel" vorgesehen war. Das "Superman Returns"-Sequel wird damit nach hinten verschoben.

Der Grund: Warner erhofft sich von der "Justice League" besondere Zugkraft für andere Superheldenfilme. So sollen neben den "Stars" Batman und Superman im Film Helden wie The Flash, Wonder Woman, The Green Lantern und Aquaman eingeführt werden und damit schon einmal die Grundlage für folgende Einzelfilme dieser Figuren gelegt werden.

Die Regie übernimmt übrigens der Australier George Miller ("Mad Max", "Happy Feet"). Darsteller stehen noch keine fest. Insider bezweifeln allerdings, dass "Superman" Brandon Routh und "Batman" Christian Bale ihre Rollen aus den Einzelfilmen auch im Gesamtprojekt spielen werden. Routh gilt einigen Warner-Offiziellen als zu jung, bei Bale dürften dessen Gagenforderungen ein Problem werden.

Die Idee ansich ist ja nicht übel, aber das nun für Supi und Batsi wieder neue Darsteller genommen werden sollen finde ich einfach mies.

Ne also irgendwann sollten die schon gleiche Darsteller nehmen, wenn die Film so zeitlich nah beieinander sind.
Wäre ja so, als wenn die für jeden Bond den sie drehen wieder jemanden neuen nehmen, ich weiss ja nich...

Aber schlecht klingts nicht, hoffe nur, dass vor lauter superhelden, da auch noch etwas story reinpasst in so einen film!

Allerdings gibt es neben zahlreichen Spekulationen jetzt auch etwas Handfestes: wie den Kollegen von 'Moviehole' bestätigt wurde, werden Christian Bale ("Batman Begins", "American Psycho") und Brandon Routh ("Superman Returns") definitiv nicht dabei sein. Beide werden ihre Rollen als Batman bzw. Superman zwar erneut spielen, allerdings nicht in Justice League of America, sondern in den jeweiligen Fortsetzungen der beliebten Comicverfilmungen. Bale ging in einem Interview mit 'IESB' sogar so weit zu behaupten, dass es für das produzierende Studio 'Warner Bros.' besser sei, einen JLA-Film wenn überhaupt erst nach dem übernächsten Batman-Streifen zu realisieren.

Derweil gehen aber auch die Spekulationen weiter: in einem anderen Bericht bei 'IESB' wird zur Zeit gerätselt, ob Justice League of America vielleicht als komplett computeranimierter Streifen (ähnlich wie "Beowulf" oder "Der Polarexpress") realisiert wird. Handfeste News gibt es diesbezüglich aber noch nicht, genauso wenig übrigens wie eine Meldung, welcher Regisseur die Comicverfilmung denn nun auf die Leinwand bringt. Im Gespräch waren zuletzt George Miller ("Happy Feet", "Mad Max") und Joseph McGintry Nichol alias McG ("3 Engel für Charlie").

However, the film's likelihood hinges on the studio's ability to assemble a cast of superheroes in a small window of time.

The trade says the studio declined comment, saying that it prefers to announce an entire cast rather than piecemeal deals.

The Hollywood Reporter says that a slew of young actors are testing for the roles of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern and the Martian Manhunter in George Miller's big screen Justice League adaptation. The director is seeing 35-40 actors for roles in the Warner Bros. comic book movie from Sunday through Monday.

Included in the casting sessions are: Adam Brody ("The O.C."), Joseph Cross (Running With Scissors), D.J. Cotrona ("Windfall"), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Grindhouse), Michael Angarano (Sky High), Teresa Palmer (The Grudge 2), Max Thieriot (Jumper) and rapper Common.

The trade adds that the cast of NBC's "Friday Night Lights" is well-represented as well, with Minka Kelly, Adrianne Palicki and Scott Porter also among those testing for parts. Miller is reportedly looking for the young actors to grow into their roles over the course of several movies. The director is due to present his findings to the studio midweek.

Moviehole has received good word that The Grudge 2, December Boys and Wolf Creek star Teresa Palmer has landed the role of Wonder Woman in George Miller's anticipated Justice League adaptation at Warner Bros. According to the site, Palmer just nudged out competition Minka Kelly and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
