ALBA'S FAMILY DELIGHTED BY ACTION FIGURE

Actress JESSICA ALBA's family is so impressed with her incarnation as a plastic action figure, they are buying hundreds of the toys resembling their famous relative. The Fantastic Four star has been recreated as her character from the movie, the Invisible Girl, in doll form, and Alba insists her next of kin are going crazy for the 26-year-old in miniature. She says, "It's funny seeing yourself as an action figure. "But my family love it - I have lots of cousins and they've all started collecting them, which is funny."

Naja man kanns schon übertreiben... biggrin

Ach macht doch nichts.

ALBA VOTED SEXIEST SUPERHERO

Hollywood beauty JESSICA ALBA has been voted the world's sexiest superhero. The Fantastic Four actress topped the poll for her role as The Invisible Woman - also known as Sue Storm - in the movie adaptation of the comic book. Jennifer Garner came second as Elektra in Daredevil/Elektra and Halle Berry was third as Storm in the X-Men film series. The sexiest man was Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in X-Men, while Superman star Brandon Routh only managed to reach fifth place in the Pearl + Dean poll.

ALBA OFFENDED BY HILTON COMPARISON

Latina beauty JESSICA ALBA was horrified when a British journalist compared her latest movie hairstyle to PARIS HILTON's coif. On Tuesday (12Jun07), Alba spoke to Sky News reporter Neil Sean at the world premiere of Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer in London, who compared her character Sue Storm's platinum blonde locks to the jailed socialite. Sean said, "So you've got a bit of a Paris Hilton hairstyle going on in the film," to which Alba replied, "I don't think it looks anything like Paris' hair actually." Alba was later overheard complaining to a publicist, "Was he telling me I look like a jailbird? That was just so out of order."

Deutet sich da schon was an?????

Quote:
Alba's new love interest: her Nintendo Wii

Jessica Alba burst onto the scene in James Cameron's Dark Angel TV series, and since then, has made her mark on the silver screen in hit films like Sin City, Into the Blue, and Fantastic Four. This summer, Alba returns with her superhero role of Sue Storm in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Alba worked closely with Activision on the upcoming video game tie-in and is looking for ways to become even more involved with the gaming industry.

What role do you see video games playing today in Hollywood?

I think games play an important role in movies. It's all entertainment. It's all fantasy, and it's a way for people to connect to the movie by living vicariously through the characters in the video game. It's a great role-playing experience. I've had a go or two at 007 and there's a part of me that likes to pretend that I'm James Bond.

What do you think of what they can do with video games today?

The graphics are insane. They're so real. I grew up playing Bomberman and Pac-Man and Super Mario Brothers and Zelda, where you had just this little guy who could barely walk and the music was like doot... doot... doot. And the way they walked was so stiff and robotic. And now the game characters look like people moving around. It's a similar technology to what we use in Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer. We now know how to make films that are completely animated and computer-generated, and convincingly real.

Have you seen yourself in the video games you've worked on in the past?

I have seen myself in video games, like in Dark Angel or the first Fantastic Four game. It's weird. It doesn't seem like me, but it is. It's totally weird. It's like having an action figure. It's super cool, but it's like, there's no way this is real. You know they do body scans and everything to make the game characters look as much like you as they can. It's completely cool and bizarre.

Did you get a chance to play the games you were in?

I have played both of those games, but I don't last very long. I get frustrated. I just got the Wii and that's fun. I play all of the Wii Sports games, like bowling, tennis, and baseball. That's a lot of fun.

You mentioned recently getting the Nintendo Wii -- what do you like about it?

I think the physicality of the Wii gets people off the couch. Sometimes you can just sit there playing a video game for hours and never move and you're brain is just zapped from playing the game. With the Wii, you're up on your feet and moving around. The physical aspect of it is great, especially for kids. They actually call it the Wii Diet, since active players can burn calories!

Hey, whatever works. Obesity is ridiculous with kids today in our country. Anything that helps is great. You know, West Virginia is using Dance Dance Revolution in all schools as part of P.E. I know a lot of public school programs don't even have P.E. these days. That's crazy. It wasn't even an option when I was a kid. What the heck! I remember climbing up the rope, doing the mile run and all of that stuff.

There are people who call video games the "new comics" in Hollywood. What are your thoughts on movies based on games like Gears of War and Hitman?

I think our technology allows us to do these exceptional computer-generated films that have someone running and doing stunts or whatever it is that people are doing in video games -- superhuman stuff -- so it kind of makes sense.

I know why studios do it: It's a built-in audience. They don't have to sit there and create something that doesn't exist and force-feed it to fans. They have something that already has a fan base and hopefully they try to elevate it and have it reach out to other people.

What are your thoughts on the opportunities video games present to Hollywood talent?

I think it's great what's happening with technology and video games and the virtual world. I've actually been trying to develop a video game. Well, I tried to develop one, but it wasn't the most fleshed-out concept. I'd love to produce video games though. I played them since I was a kid and they're fun. It's a great way to entertain.

Do you think more people will follow in the footsteps of Vin Diesel, John Woo, and Peter Jackson and start their own game companies?

I think there will be more Hollywood people starting up their own game companies, because you get to be your own production company and your own studio and everything, right?

What are your thoughts about the new Sin City video game that Red Mile Entertainment is developing?

I think it's perfect for a video game and I actually read about that and I'm excited to see how it turns out.

Nintendo DS for Everyone

Jessica Alba loves the Nintendo DS so much that she bought one for the whole cast of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer when they finished filming.

"I had my DS on the set of Fantastic Four and I bought it for my entire cast when we wrapped," said Alba. "I guess I just felt bad because between takes they'd be chatting and we were in the Fantasticar and I'd always have my iPod and my DS with me. It was like fingernail-biting, gripping moments in the movie and then, "Cut!" I'd pick up my DS and try to beat my 82 age in Brain Age. I'd try to memorize all of those damn words."

Fantastic Four: The Movie

Jessica Alba has become a superhero to legions of comic book fans. She said the first time she put on the Sue Storm suit was a "pinch-me" moment.

"It didn't really hit me until I was in my blue suit on set in the full thing and I thought this was so funny," said Alba. "You feel like you're a walking action hero. It feels kind of funny being in that outfit. But when little kids come up to you and say they love you and the character, it makes it worth it. I remember feeling that way about Superman and Batman when I was a kid, so it's cool."

Quote:
60 SECONDS: Jessica Alba

Actress Jessica Alba regularly tops lads' mags 'sexiest woman' polls. She came to a minor level of fame on sci-fi action show Dark Angel before landing the role of a stripper in Sin City. Alba starred as the Invisible Woman in disappointing superhero flick Fantastic Four and reprises her role in Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer, in cinemas today.

Your character Sue in the Fantastic Four is famous, like you. Are you similar as celebs?
It’s different for her because she didn’t choose it. I chose to do this. On the other hand, I don’t have people relying on me to save the world. The stakes are much higher for her than for me, fortunately. n Who would be the other three in your fantasy Fantastic Four? US Presidential candidate Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey and Bill Gates. They’d be my Superhero Team. I’d be the cook. Give me a recipe and I can probably knock it out. The only thing I’m bad at is baking.

Why them?
I’m inspired by people trying to make this world a better place. I’m inspired by all kinds of people, not just those who appear in the media. My grandmother inspires me. Obama seems to be pretty sure about his direction and has a clear head.

You have said you are never going to be a skinny girl. Is your cooking just too good?
That, plus the fact I’m a naturally curvy girl. I figured out that being too curvy wouldn’t help with the acting, so exercising has been part of my life for a long time. I do Tae Bo, weights and cardio four times a week. I should do Pilates. I wouldn’t have weak joints and bones if I did.

How does it feel to be named the world’s sexiest woman?
It’s flattering but I don’t see myself like that. I even heard someone call me a sex goddess. I don’t celebrate it but I’m grateful for it. I don’t really think about it. When I go home, I wash it all away. I need to find time to be myself and not just a personality or a part of this business.

You’re dating a film producer, Cash Warren. Is it a relief not be dating an actor?
Totally. All actors need to be conscious of their appearance in the same way that women are. There’s really only room for so much self-consciousness in a relationship. All women feel the pressure of just being a woman. Add actress on top of that and it’s even more pressure. So to have your man as insecure and caught up about his looks as you isn’t good. It’s nice not to have to talk about that facialist or this electrolysis or this skin product. That’s stuff to talk to your girlfriends about. Also I think all actors are crazy – including myself. You have to be a little bit cuckoo to cope with us.

What items could you not leave home without?
Chapstick and chewing gum.

Going out wearing no underwear seems very popular in Hollywood.
I am a very conservative person. I try not to make headlines with my clothes. I have my fashion style and don’t try to fit in. I don’t have my breasts under my chin, I’m not showing butt cheeks or much leg. I don’t go for the trendiest look.

Nor the trendiest nightclubs – we don’t see photos of you out with party girls like Paris Hilton.
No, I don’t fit in with that group of girls because I didn’t grow up with rich girls. I’m just a regular girl from the suburbs. Those other girls grew up in the limelight and with the world in their palm. For me, going to a party is not a thrill. I love going to movies and talking to directors and writers, people on the technical side, and all sorts of people inspired by arts. I’d rather be travelling if I have time off.

Don’t you hang out with other famous people?
My best friends are Bille Woodruff, who directed me in Honey, and my cousin Mo, whose real name is actually Jessica, too. She’s like my little sister. Most of my other friends are mums. One of them has five children. So when I do get to catch up with them, they always have to run off to get the kids.

What worries you about the world these days?
What doesn’t? The next fundamentalist terrorist, some maniacal politician in favour of ethnic cleansing, companies that stop production on alternative fuels because they don’t make enough money from it. I worry about so many things but I’m not sure what I can do about it. I have always been aware of the world at large. That really started when I was filming Flipper and living in Australia. I was 15 and really began to see another side of the US. When September 11 happened, I think a lot of Americans woke up to the fact that they’re not the only people on this planet.
