Jerry Bruckheimer Films führt Gespräche, um sich die Rechte an einer Kinofilm-Version des bekannten Computerspiels "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" zu sichern. Das Projekt soll ein Kinofilm für Disney werden, berichtet Variety. Zu dem Vertrag gehört auch das Drehbuch, dass von dem Spielemacher Jordan Mechner geschrieben wurde. John August ist Ausführender Produzent und wirft dabei ein Auge auf Mechner, wenn er das Drehbuch schreibt.
Im Spiel befindet man sich im mittelalterlichen Persien, das mächtigste und mysteriöseste Königreich der Erde zu dieser Zeit. Ein König und sein Sohn besiegen den mächtigen Maharadscha, entführen seine Tochter und plündern die riesige Schatzkammer des Palastes, wo sie eine seltsame Sanduhr und einen geheimnisvollen Dolch finden.
Der Prinz bemerkt jedoch nicht, dass diese beiden Objekte ihren Gegner in einen unsterblichen Gott verwandeln können und ihm Kontrolle über die Zeit verschaffen. Von einem sterbenden Wesir, der die furchtbare Magie für sich selbst haben möchte, ausgetrickst, setzt der Prinz den Sand der Zeit frei und zerstört damit sein Königreich und verwandelt die Bevölkerung in grausame Dämonen. Nur der Prinz, der Wesir und Prinzessin Farah, die entführte Tochter des Maharadschah, bleiben unverändert. Jetzt liegt es am jungen Prinzen von Persien, alles dran zu setzen, sein Königreich zu retten und seinen schlimmsten Fehler rückgängig zu machen.
Mechner sagte, dass Bruckheimers "Fluch der Karibik" ein Vorbild für die Adaption ist. "Anstatt eine originalgetreue Adaption des neuen Videospieles zu machen, nehmen wir einfach ein paar coole Elemente aus dem Spiel und benutzen sie, um eine neue Geschichte ein wenig aufzuwerten - genau wie es 'Fluch der Karibik' mit der Themenpark-Attraktion gemacht hat." |

Also wenn Bruckheimer bei dem Projekt dabei ist, wird es sicher gut!! 
Prince of Persia kenn ich sonst nur als Computerspiel, aber die Version, die wir haben ist sicher schon 15 Jahre oder so alt. Ist aber nicht schlecht gemacht, es macht auch ziemlich Spaß es zu spielen (naja, das könnte auch daran liegen dass das eins der wenigen Spiele ist die ich habe  )
Der Film hört sich echt gut an! Typisch Bruckheimer, wieder was mit Dämonen zu machen (bei Fluch der karibik waren ja auch solche Skelette dabei). |

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Jake Gyllenhaal (who was first rumored by Latino Review) and Gemma Arterton (upcoming Quantum of Solace) will star in Prince of Persa: The Sands of Time, Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films' adaptation of Ubisoft's popular video game. Mike Newell is directing.
In the fantasy adventure, Gyllenhaal will play Dastan, a young prince in sixth century Persia who must join forces with Tamina (Arterton), a feisty and exotic princess, to prevent a villainous nobleman from possessing the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.
Doug Miro & Carlo Bernard, Jordan Mechner and Boaz Yakin wrote the script, which is based on the many games created by Jordan Mechner.
Bruckheimer is producing, while Mike Stenson, Chad Oman and Patrick McCormick are exec producing.
Production is set to start in July. |

Alfred Molina and Ben Kingsley will join Jake Gyllenhaal and Gemma Arterton in Disney's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, the Mike Newell-directed adaptation of the Ubisoft video game. Jerry Bruckheimer is producing.
Variety says Molina will play Sheik Amar, who becomes a mentor to the prince. No word yet on who Kingsley plays.
Shooting is scheduled to begin in July in the U.K. and Morocco. |

'Disney has pushed back the release of its video game adaptation Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time by a year, Coming Soon reports.
The adventure film's June 19, 2009 release has been shifted to May 28, 2010, moving it away from the debut date of Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen.'

“Tonally, I’d say it’s basically ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ with maybe a half-step towards ‘Gladiator.’”
“Prince of Persia” isn’t just going to be like “Pirates” in terms of scope and tone, the newest Disney/Bruckheimer tag-team is actually going to “do for Arabian Nights movies what ‘Pirates’ did for pirate movies."

Prince of Persia is based on the video game of the same name, a desert adventure full of swashbuckling action. What separates it from the Pirates films is its emphasis on romance and drama.
"It's a very romantic story," Bruckheimer said. "It's about a young prince who falls in love with his princess through the course of the film. It's a drama but has a lot of humor in it."
Sorcerer's Apprentice is based on the Fantasia short, with Jay Baruchel in the Mickey Mouse role. Nicolas Cage plays the sorcerer and Jon Turteltaub directs, the same duo who brought us the National Treasure films.
"It's got the same kind of tone, because Jon has a wonderful comedic touch," Bruckheimer said of their third collaboration. "It's got romance in it, and it's got a lot of adventure. It's very similar to National Treasure in tone."

Den werd ich mir wahrscheinlich auch im Kino ansehen. Hab gestern den Trailer auf ner DVD gesehen.
Ich mag solche Filme. Auch wenn der Schauspieler mir nicht so zu sagt. Immer wenn ich Ihn ansehe, denke ich, ich schlaf gleich ein, weil er so einen einschlafenden Blick hat.

Ich war gestern drin, und fand den Film wirklich gut: Wer sich für viel Action
und eine Geschichte, im Stil von 1001 Nacht begeistern kann, dürfte nicht
enttäuscht werden. Zwar hätte man vielleicht vom Inhalt her, mehr erwar-
ten können, aber ich fand es doch angemessen. Was mir noch auffiel, war
das manche Stellen, schon sehr an die Spiel-Vorlage erinnert haben.
Meine wertung: 9/10 |
