Is This How Shrek Goes Fourth?

Alex Litel's Lackluster Emporium has come upon a copyright pre-registration for DreamWorks Animation's Shrek Goes Fourth which may give our first look where the studio is headed with the story:

Spoiler (click here to show or hide the text):
After challenging an evil dragon, rescuing a beautiful princess and saving your in-laws' kingdom, what's an ogre to do? Well, if you're Shrek, you suddenly wind up a domesticated family man. Instead of scaring villagers away like he used to, a reluctant Shrek now agrees to autograph pitch forks. What's happened to this ogre's roar? Longing for the days when he felt like a "real ogre," Shrek is duped into signing a pact with the smooth-talking dealmaker, Rumplestiltskin. Shrek suddenly finds himself in a in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away, where ogres are hunted, Rumplestiltskin is king and Shrek and Fiona have never met. Now, it's up to Shrek to undo all he's done in the hopes of saving his friends, restoring his world and reclaiming his one True Love.

DreamWorks Animation is eyeing a May 21, 2010 release in conventional and IMAX theaters.

Quote:
Final Shrek Disappoints with $71.3 Mill. Opening

The second big sequel of the summer of '10 became one of the first major disappointments as the computer-animated Shrek Forever After (DreamWorks Animation/Paramount) brought in an estimated $71.2 million its opening weekend in 4,359 theaters. That amount normally wouldn't be disastrous, being the fourth highest opening for an animated movie ever and putting it in the realm of some of Pixar's bigger openings, but following the $100 million plus openings of the previous two "Shrek" movies, it's fairly obvious that DreamWorks Animation may have been better off ending the series one movie earlier. The fourth movie wasn't helped as hoped by being the first movie released in 3D, playing in a record 4,000 3D theaters and 184 IMAX 3D venues at higher ticket prices. At the same time, the final "Shrek" took in another $26 million internationally from the 2,551 locations in nine countries where it opened day-and-date. $20 million of that was made in Russia alone, making it the biggest opening ever for that country.

Shrek Tops Memorial Day Weekend Box Office

Despite opening to a "disappointing" $70.8 million last weekend, DreamWorks Animation's Shrek Forever After held on strong its second weekend, earning an estimated $55.7 million in first place over the four-day Memorial Day weekend box office to top the two new wide releases. The fourth and final installment of the franchise was made for about $165 million and has earned $145.8 million domestically in 11 days.
