SPECIAL TWO-HOUR PREQUEL
Fans have been waiting almost a year for the return of 24, television’s most addictive drama. On Sunday, November 23 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), the wait will be over as FOX presents a special two-hour prequel event.
Shot on location in South Africa, Jack Bauer battles an international crisis, while here at home the nation prepares for a new president on inauguration day. Taking place just a few months before the new day dawns, the prequel will set the stage and raise the stakes for Season Seven.
“We're excited about the prequel because it explores Jack's complex emotional state of mind and still has all the signature excitement and suspense that fans have come to expect from 24,” commented executive producer Howard Gordon. “Shooting in South Africa affirms everyone’s commitment to making this season especially memorable for our fans.”
Celebrating its 150th episode this season, the series has resumed production on “Day 7” and will unfold without interruption in its regular time period Mondays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) beginning in January 2009.
Set in Washington, DC, “Day 7” finds CTU dismantled and Jack Bauer on trial. Bauer’s day takes an unexpected turn when former colleague TONY ALMEIDA (Carlos Bernard) returns. Meanwhile, President ALLISON TAYLOR (Cherry Jones) leads the country alongside White House Chief of Staff ETHAN KANIN (Bob Gunton) and First Gentleman HENRY TAYLOR (Colm Feore).
A national security crisis prompts an investigation by a team of FBI agents including Agent JANIS GOLD (Janeane Garofalo), Agent RENEE WALKER (Annie Wersching), Agent LARRY MOSS (Jeffrey Nordling), Agent SEAN HILLINGER (Rhys Coiro) and security specialist MICHAEL LATHAM (John Billingsley). Although CTU is no longer, CHLOE O’BRIAN (Mary Lynn Rajskub) and BILL BUCHANAN (James Morrison) are back for another momentous day of shocking events.

Jon Voight Joins 24
The Hollywood Reporter says Jon Voight has signed on for the upcoming seventh season of "24." On the Fox drama, Voight will play Jack Bauer's (Kiefer Sutherland) uber-nemesis who is pulling the strings behind next season's terrorist threat. The character will be introduced during "24's" two-hour Season 7 prequel and will be featured heavily in the latter half of the season.
The prequel, now shooting on location in South Africa, is slated to air Nov. 23, with Season 7 of the Imagine TV/20th TV-produced series kicking off in January.

Laut Zap2it wird die Handlung ca. 4 Jahre nach den Ereignissen der 6. Staffel spielen.
Demzufolge wird Chloe auch einen vierjährigen Sohn haben. Das riecht schonwieder
extrem nach Soappotential.

Bis zur sechsten Season habe ich es geschafft mich nicht spoilern zu lassen. Nun habe ich leider den Kampf verloren und mir sogut wie alles durchgelesen was man über Season 7 wissen muss. 
Was mir überhaupt nicht gefällt ist, dass Tony dort anscheinend der Bösewicht sein soll.  Obwohl das doch noch nicht zu 100% sicher ist, oder? Man macht das doch einzig an dem Satz "Er ist ganz sicher nicht der Almeida, den wir kannten." fest, wenn ich mich nicht irre.  |

'24' to shut down production for rewrites
Apparently Jack Bauer needs a little breather: After the completion of episode 18 on Sept. 15, production on Fox's hit drama 24 will shut down until October 9th while the writers reshape the upcoming season's creative direction -- specifically the transition leading to the end game. "We had a couple of scripts that we weren't happy with," 24 exec producer Howard Gordon tells EW.com. "We just couldn't get this direction to work, and we found another one that we liked better, so we wound up retooling it.
Production shutdowns are usually cause for concern -- and 24 is coming off its least critically beloved season -- but Howard assures fans that everything will be on track, and the season will not be interrupted. He says that the show is ahead of schedule, which means the airing of season 7 -- which begins in January 2009 -- will not be affected. (You may remember that 24 had the first eight episodes of this season in the can when last fall's WGA strike occurred; Fox decided to delay the launch until 2009.) "The only, only, only concern at all is getting it right," Howard says. "Our feeling was this: We're so happy with what we've done so far, and to the extent that we had that luxury [of time], we said, 'Why not make it as good as we could?'"

Und eine Kritik zum Prequel gibt es auch schon:
As much action as there is in "Redemption," the most fun of the whole two hours is
a coming-attractions sequence for Season 7 tacked on at the end. If the new season
lives up to the excitement of this trailer, then you should fasten your seatbelts for a
bumpy ride.

Meine Meinung zum Prequel: Wer es nicht schaut wird, bis auf 2 3 Ereignisse, nichts
wichtiges verpassen. Alles plätschert vor sich hin, Spannung kam kaum auf und es
gab mal wieder einige wirklich dämliche Szenen und Ideen. Bleibt nur die Hoffnung
das die 7. Staffel deutlich besser wird als das Prequel, auch wenn diese nicht sehr
groß ist und ich einfach glaube das die Luft bei 24 - trotz der Pause - raus ist.
