Bruce Willis on Die Hard 5 and Unbreakable 2

MTV talked to Cop Out star Bruce Willis over the weekend and asked him about some possible sequels that might be in his future.

Willis told them, "I think we're going to do a 'Die Hard 5' next year."

The fourth film was directed by Len Wiseman and earned $383.5 million in theaters worldwide in 2007. It was made for about $110 million.

So where does he see John McClane going this time? "It's got to go worldwide. That would be my contribution to it," he said, adding that he would like to see Wiseman return to the director's chair.

Willis also told the network that M. Night Shyamalan is still thinking about doing an Unbreakable 2. "I talked to [Shyamalan] over the holidays, and he is still thinking about doing the fight movie between me and Sam that we were gonna do," he said. "We chose to do the origin."

He says he's up for it as long as Samuel L. Jackson is.

Bruce Willis Says "Die Hard 5" Will Shoot Next Year

Back in February, Bruce Willis revealed that fifth "Die Hard" movie will begin shooting in 2011, adding that he would hire Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard) to direct the new film.

Now, during a press junket for "Red," MTV News asked Willis for an update. "It's probably going to happen in 2011," he confirmed. "We have a script. They're making a couple changes right now."

The script Willis is talking about is the one written by Skip Woods (Wolverine, Hitman, Swordfish), who promised to take the franchise to a more global scale.

Quote:
Die Hard 5 to Pit John McClane Against Hans Gruber's Sister?

It seems that Bruce Willis' John McClane might square off with yet another villainous sibling of Hans Gruber in Die Hard 5. Alan Rickman portrayed Hans Gruber in the original Die Hard and Jeremy Irons played Hans' brother, Simon, in Die Hard With a Vengeance.

It isn't known if this will be another brother of Hans, or if Hans' sister will appear as the Die Hard 5 villain. It's also possible that a son or daughter of Hans Gruber could be the main bad guy.

Bruce Willis recently revealed that a script for Die Hard 5 is finished and that the sequel will likely shoot sometime in 2011. We reported in October that Bruce Willis wants to come back for Die Hard 5 and Die Hard 6, after which he will retire the character.

It still isn't known when production will start on Die Hard 5.

Die Hard 5 is in development and stars Bruce Willis.

Die Hard 5 Gets Director Noam Murro

Deadline reported earlier this evening that Bruce Willis' fifth outing as Detective John McClane in Die Hard 5 has scored itself a director in Noam Murro, who is best known outside of the ad agencies for his debut feature Smart People. There have been rumors circulating over the last few months about 20th Century Fox wanting another installment with Skip Woods working on a script, which has been confirmed by the new addition.

Although Murro has only directed one film, he has been nominated five times by the GA for his commercials work.

Bruce Willis has yet to have signed a deal for a fifth movie but he's shown a lot of enthusiasm for returning to his best-loved franchise.

The previous installment Live Free or Die Hard was released in the summer of 2007 and it grossed $383.5 million worldwide. No word yet on who else if anyone might return from that movie.

John Moore to Direct Die Hard 5

One of the candidates rumored earlier this month, Max Payne director John Moore has taken the job as director of the as-of-yet-untitled fifth Die Hard film, Deadline reports.

The film, drafted by Skip Woods (The A-Team, X-Men Origins: Wolverine) is said to bring John McClane and his son to Russia. Bruce Willis is certain to return to his iconic role with no word yet on the casting of his son. Though Mary Elizabeth Winstead played McClane's daughter in Live Free or Die Hard, her character's brother was only mentioned offhand in that film and hasn't been seen since then-child actor Noah Land played the role in the original Die Hard.

The film is expected to begin production soon, filming on-location in Russia.

Jai Courtney to Play Jack McClane in A Good Day to Die Hard

Following a global casting search spanning several months, Jai Courtney has nabbed the coveted role of John (Jack) McClane, Jr., the son of Bruce Willis' iconic action hero, in A Good Day to Die Hard.

A Good Day to Die Hard puts McClane on an international stage -- truly a NYC fish out of water in Moscow -- and introduces his estranged son Jack. An apple that has not fallen far from the tree, Jack may even be more of a hardass than his father. Despite their differences, they must work together to keep each other alive – and the world safe for democracy.

The film begins production this April, for a February 14, 2013 release.

Courtney, studied drama at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), where he graduated in 2008. Following graduation Courtney quickly landed guest star roles on two hit Australian shows, "Packed To the Rafters" followed by "All Saints." Later that year, Courtney won a Theatre Critics Award as Best Newcomer for his performance in "The Turning" for the Perth Theatre Company. In 2009 he landed the role of Varro in the international television hit, "Spartacus: Blood and Sand." Last year, Courtney landed a starring role opposite Tom Cruise in One Shot, directed by Christopher McQuarrie.

Two Villains Sign on for A Good Day to Die Hard

Two more actors have signed on for the upcoming fifth Die Hard installment, A Good Day to Die Hard. Variety reports that Sebastian Koch and Yulia Snigir have signed on for villainous roles, playing characters named Komorov and Irina, respectively. They join Bruce Willis, returning as John McClane, and Jai Courtney, playing his son, Jack.

The film puts McClane on an international stage -- truly a NYC fish out of water in Moscow -- and introduces his estranged son Jack. An apple that has not fallen far from the tree, Jack may even be more of a hardass than his father. Despite their differences, they must work together to keep each other alive – and the world safe for democracy.

Koch is best known for roles in The Lives of Others, Black Book and Unknown while Snigir, a Russian model, is making her English-language film debut.

A Good Day to Die Hard begins production next month, aiming for a February 14, 2013 release.
