Toy Story 3 is in Production

The Walt Disney Company reported its second quarter and six months results on Tuesday (full details here) and Chief Executive Robert Iger also gave an update on Toy Story 3 in a conference call.
Iger revealed that Walt Disney Pictures has started production on Toy Story 3, but no release date has been set for the third installment. The studio may also do other sequels of Pixar films.
After Disney acquired Pixar, Pixar took over production of Toy Story 3, which Disney's in-house animators had been working on. |

The Wall Street Journal led of a new article talking about movies and video games with the following: In Pixar's coming movie "Toy Story 3," Woody the cowboy and his toy-box friends are dumped in a day-care center after their owner, Andy, leaves for college. It's the first we've heard those plot details for the Disney/Pixar sequel, opening June 18, 2010. The film, to be released in 3D, will again feature the voices of Tom Hanks and Tim Allen.

Disney•Pixar's Toy Story 3 opened to an estimated $41 million on Friday, a new record first day for an animated film surpassing Shrek the Third's $38.4 million. Disney/Pixar's eleventh movie and their first threequel Toy Story 3, featuring the voices of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and more, helped get the summer back in gear with a estimated opening gross of $109 million in 4,028 theaters including Digital Disney 3D and IMAX 3D. 3D showings accounted for 60% of that opening with IMAX 3D bringing in $8.4 million, a new record for an animated film in the format, topping Monsters vs. Aliens' $5.1 million IMAX opening last year.
Besides being Pixar's biggest opening, surpassing The Incredibles previous holder with $70.5 million, It was the third biggest opening of the year after Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland and Iron Man 2, and Disney's 4th $100 million opener to enter the Top 10 domestic opening weekends of all time. Toy Story 3 also brought in $44.8 million internationally, having opened in Mexico, Argentina and China, though it won't open in other countries until July or August.

Habe den Film heute Abend in der Sneak gesehen. Hab mir ja eigentlich Knight & Day erhofft, aber als die 3D Brillen verteilt wurden, hatte ich schon eine leise Vorahnung  Fand damals schon die ersten beiden Teile unterhaltsam, obwohl ich die Filme auch heute noch als überbewertet empfinde. Würde jedenfalls sagen, der 3te gefiel mir von der Trilogie am besten. Aber vllt. müsste ich dazu auch mal wieder die Vorgänger sichten, ist ja schon wieder Jahre her. Würde eine 8 von 10 geben. |
