Jessica Alba: I have no idea. You probably know more than I do about both of those movies. To be honest the actor is always the last to know. They're like, "We're bringing this screen we still have to wrap our heads around the character but we'll give you three weeks to do that." (Laughs) So yeah, I'm truly the last to know.

Gibt es eigentlich mal was neues ?!?!
Hatte nämlich vorhin mal aus Langeweile nen bischen Sin City geguckt und musste sofort an den 2. Teil denken.
Ey es gibt kein Film, überhaupt keinen auf den ich schon länger warte als auf Sin City 2 .. will den endlich sehen verdammt !!! |

It's just a few months before we can decide if Frank Miller's fruit-flavored solo feature directing debut THE SPIRIT is hypnotic or tragic, but it sounds like he's already preparing to take a trip back to the place where you can find anything in the right alley.
The curmudgeonly comic book veteran was recently in Rome to show some SPIRIT clips (which apparently including Eva Mendes' naked butt, so he probably wasn't at the Vatican) and mentioned that he was "very close" to beginning SIN CITY 2 with cohort Robert Rodriguez. He also grumbled (I presume) that he had no plans to return to comics, opting instead to take his work right to the big screen in the future.

A couple days ago, MTV's Splash Page chatted up actor Mickey Rourke at a party for Fox Seachlight and the results of that discussion seemed to indicate that both Frank Miller and Mickey were ready to go on the long-delayed Sin City 2.
At the junket for Darren Aronofsky's The Wrestler in which Rourke gives a heartbreaking performance as Randy "The Ram" Robinson, a has-been wrestler trying to go out in a blaze of glory, he told Superhero Hype that he's not as gun-ho about returning to play Marv as he might have been last week.
"No, I'm not interested in that right now. That's not a reality right now. It's pissing in the wind," Rourke admitted. "There's different factions going different directions there. I don't know. That's three hours of make up and I'm claustrophobic, so I'm going to have to work something out."
Who knows how much of a role Marv would have played in the sequel considering that it was to be based around the mini-series "A Dame to Kill For" but Marv was always kind of in the background even in the stories that didn't feature him, so hopefully, they can work things out.

Wenn du die letzten paar Beiträge gelesen hast bist du auf dem neusten Stand was
den Film betrifft. Irgendwie kommt der einfach nicht in die Gänge und immer wieder
kommen andere Projekte bei den Machern dazwischen. Letzte Meldung war das der
Dreh um April starten soll, aber daran glaube ich nicht mehr.

An interesting scoop suggesting that "Sin City 2" is no longer a Weinstein Company project has broken to the surface. Coming up with the report is IESB which claimed that the production company has lost the rights to the sequel of Frank Miller's "Sin City".
While noting that details on the matter remain sketchy, the site made note that the follow-up movie will now be financed by a private equity group with announcement coming out soon. Universal Pictures have been rumored to be potential contender to be this film's distributor, though no words have been shared of it.
IESB further pointed out that Robert Rodriguez's Trouble Maker studios are still committed to produce "Sin City 2". With that said, it means Rodriguez may still come aboard as co-director, co-producer and co-writer for the action drama project.
Expected to be finished for 2010 release,"Sin City 2" is said to be adapted from Frank Miller's "A Dame to Kill For". It offers the early story of Dwight McCarthy when Ava Lord, his former lover, returns to his life with a dark intention forcing him to face all sorts of problems. Clive Owen will return to play McCarthy. He will be joined by Rosario Dawson, Jessica Alba, Brittany Murphy, Mickey Rourke and Michael Clarke Duncan.

"TWC's rights to produce sequels to Sin City remain intact as they always have been. Any suggestion to the contrary is complete hogwash." |

It's been a while since Angelina Jolie last talked to us about possibly playing Ava Lord in Sin City 2 (December, 2006 to be exact), but now Moviehole is reporting the rumor that talks are heating up once again for her to play the character in the sequel based on Frank Miller's "A Dame to Kill For."
According to a rather high-profile producer friend, Angelina Jolie is now in "serious talks" – as opposed to merely being mentioned as a possibility, or having a casual coffee with the filmmakers to suss out her interest – to star in director Robert Rodroguez's "Sin City 2."
In the graphic novel, Ava is an ex-lover of Dwight McCarthy (Clive Owen) who manipulates men through her good looks and her supposed innocence. Dimension Films has not announced a start date for the Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller sequel yet.

Beim imdb gibt es den Film nämlich nicht mehr bzw. weder bei Jess noch bei ein paar anderen steht Sin City 2 |

Liegt wohl daran, dass die Rechte gerade neu vergeben werden und deshalb keine
offizielle Ankündigung mehr vorhanden ist. 2010 hätte wohl eh nicht mehr geklappt.

Robert Rodriguez looks ahead to the comic-based sequel.
IGN recently had the opportunity to speak with director Robert Rodriguez, who was promoting the long-awaited release of Sin City on Blu-ray. We couldn't help but ask Rodriguez if the resurgence of the 2005 film, based on Frank Miller's graphic-novel series, is fueling the buzz for the proposed sequel. There's been talk of a follow-up film practically since the first one was released, but according to Rodriguez, it's starting to look like it might actually happen.
"People have been talking about Sin City 2 since the first one came out," Rodriguez said. "Whenever I'm out and about, people say, 'When's Sin City 2 coming? When's Sin City 2 coming?' They've been asking that for years. So this probably will add to that, certainly."
Rodriguez added that he had a few other commitments he had to complete before moving on to Sin City 2, but he is beginning talks with his creative team and could begin filming as early as next year.
"I actually had a phone call with some of the players in it today, but I was on a plane so I missed it," he said. "So next week we're going to talk about it some more and get a timing on when we'd be doing it. But there's a lot of people who are interested in it. ... We are definitely going to do that one.
As for the story in the film, Rodriguez said that it will include the Sin City story "A Dame to Kill For" as well as new additional material written by Miller himself.
"There's a lot of stories," Rodriguez said. "That was sort of the approach I took to it. That's why there's three stories in the [first] movie, because I thought, 'I love this material, but gosh, what happens if it's not successful and I don't get to make a part two and part three. I still want to see "The Big Fat Kill" and "That Yellow Bastard."' So I wanted to put them all in one movie so I could at least get some of these stories out of my system. But there's still so many books and so many stories to do."
