Für 14,89€ hab ich jetzt auch mal die LE im Schuber vorbestellt. Bzw. bei Avatar erwarte ich ja irgendwie eine Preisschlacht. Wird sicherlich nicht lange dauern, dann wird die DVD für ca. 10€ zu haben sein  |

While Thursday's release doesn't have any features, Cameron says that we'll get an additional six minutes in theaters for a re-release of the film in August before a 4-Disc Blu-ray/DVD set hits stores in November:
We're working on finishing an additional six minutes of the film -- which includes a lot of Weta work -- for a theatrical re-release in August. We were sold out of our IMAX performances right up to the moment until they were contractually obligated to switch to "Alice in Wonderland," so we know we left money on the table there. And the 3-D really helped "Avatar" right up until the moment that it hurt it. And it hurt it at the moment "Alice" and then "How to Train Your Dragon" and "Clash of the Titans" came in and sucked up all the 3-D screens. We went from declining 8% a week to declining 50%. Clearly, it wasn't market forces directly; it was the availability of theaters. So we're going to wait until there's a time to come back in, inject the new footage into the mix and see if we can interest people in the "Avatar" experience in theaters.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment sold 1.5 million Blu-ray units of James Cameron's Avatar on Earth Day, the film's first day of home video release. The 1.5 million units is a new record, topping The Dark Knight's 600,000 Blu-ray units sold its first day in 2008.
The studio expects to sell well over 4 million combined Blu-ray and DVD units of the movie.
Retailers sold out of 60% of their Blu-ray inventory, while they moved out about 50% of their Avatar DVDs.

The search for a "killer app" for Blu-ray Disc is over.
It's Avatar.
Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment on Sunday reported that consumers purchased a record 2.7 million Blu-ray Disc units of Avatar in the first four days of the film's home entertainment release, making it both the fastest-selling Blu-ray Disc ever and the top-selling Blu-ray Disc of all time, period.
The previous record holder was Warner Home Video's The Dark Knight, which has sold 2.5 million Blu-ray Disc units since its December 2008 release.
Avatar sold more in just four days, in a move observers say might break the Blu-ray Disc market wide open.
"When everyone sees what Blu-ray can do for this movie, they're never going to look back," said one long-time industry observer. "This release will make the format."
The total sales count for Avatar after four days in stores is 6.7 million units, 20th Century Fox said, DVD and Blu-ray Disc combined. In the comparable time frame, consumers bought 5.2 million copies of The Dark Knight. Sales numbers are for North America (the United States and Canada) only.

In einem Interview verriet Cameron, dass die Extended Edition auf DVD nochmals länger sein wird:
The extended version will appear on a special-edition DVD to be released in November. It will also include a more expanded, "alternate reality version" of the film that is 16 minutes longer than the original, Cameron said.

nun mal ne Frage ^^
blick da nimmer durch
es läuft ja grad die "Extended Version" im Kino (8min länger)
und dann gibts nochmal ne "Special Edition" die dann auf DVD (und hoffentlich auf BD) kommt die 16min länger ist...
sind da dann auch die 8min der Extended mit dabei oder is das wieder was anderes???? 
ich bitte um Aufklärung ^^ |
