TAFs Speaks To Hamilton's Agent
For those of you who were concerned that Lena Headey might be in the Polaroid photo instead of Linda Hamilton, have no fears. When speaking to some people behind the scenes of the film during Comic Con, we were told "Linda is the only way to go to honor the original Terminator films and to tie our films together. We're big fans of The Sarah Connor Chronicles but we're either going with Linda or shooting the actors holding a picture. The audience is smart enough to realize what they are looking at. We just need to contact Linda still."
This quote is over two weeks old now and from what we have heard, Linda has been contacted since then with rumors of her coming back to star in the new film. This is in fact just a rumor as we just got off the phone with Linda Hamilton's agent on Monday, August 11th. The original Sarah Connor star has not been contacted at all for any "Terminator Salvation" offers nor for her rights of her Polaroid to be used in the film. We even asked if Hamilton was contacted to lend her voice for narration. I think it's safe to say Linda will NOT be back. Sarah Connor only lives on through her son, John.
Linda's agent told us it was her belief that Hamilton would need to be paid by WB but the film company has not yet contacted them. "I can't give an answer and until we're approached, we have no idea," she told us before asking us many questions about where all of these rumors came from. Nothing but a rumor.
TheArnoldFans bets they will come to an agreement to use Linda's photo. However, WB may not call Hamilton until the film editing stage. They are probably going to film John and Reese looking at a blank generic photo together and if Hamilton agrees to her image, then the audience will see it. Otherwise, like we were told: "The audience is smart enough to realize what they are looking at."

The Dark Knight Meets Mr. Freeze
Reader Ballack sent me this picture of Arnold standing by Christian Bale. Long as this isn't a great Photoshop job, it means Arnold is involved in a limited capacity. This is ALL rumor for now until things are confirmed, but it's cool news nonetheless. There were reports that Arnold has a presence in the film, whether or not this was taken on set or at a lunch meeting, we don't know.
Ballack has more info on Arnold and T4. I'm not fixing his spelling because I hate right clicking. I don't know why he calls me Georgie but as long as he sends me pics and news he can call me Susan for all I care:
Hi Georgie,
Hope all is well. You never seemed to run with the email i sent you containing the Terminator 4 Salvation images which WB released a week later. [I never got that e-mail, I don't think -Ed.] Noneytheless, i've got a sneak peak for you which will make your day. Please find attached an Image of the Governator and John Connor meeting for the first time, yes it was on the set of T4.
I should make it clear, i have varous contacts in WB and from what i've been told the fans are in for a treat. The premise of Arnie's involvement is to have a fully rendered digital face of Arnie replacing the recently cast Roland Kickinger (The Younger version of Arnie). It seems the Director Mc G will in no doubt try all he can to ensure the Governator has some sort of involvement and as a result Arnold was on set providing key ADR (Voice over) for the visual effects guys to reference during post production. You have to remember, Arnold's commitments are preventing his return to the movie business and this seems the best logical way to ensure his involvement.
You may recall Christopher Lee's face being embossed on a stunt double in the Star Wars prequels?, imagine that with Arnold and you will get the picture. With ILM's best on the scene, it looks like Mc G is trying to get a head start on James Cameron's photo realistic stereoscopic camera systems.
Well, that makes some sense. Just put Arnold's face from the first Terminator over Roland's and have Arnold do some voiceovers. Hope it's true! Thanks to Ballack for the e-mail.

The Future So Far...
We wrapped principal photography. Now we're heavy into post. I've already shown early cuts to Christian and Sam. They seem pleased with where the film is headed. Our focus is on story and character, but it's fun diving into the world of visual effects.
It feels like the responsibility of any Terminator film to reinvent the wheel of effects with every outing. The first movie was a stunning achievement in animatronics and practical effects from Stan Winston. The second film brought us liquid metal, which was a true revolution in the effects world. Robert Patrick's (T-1000) head coming apart and putting itself back together again looks as good today as ever.
Charlie Gibson is aware of his responsibility as the VFX supervisor and second unit director of this film. He works with ILM and Asylum every day and makes revisions to the finest detail. We want the patina of the machines to be dirty and heavy and perfectly realistic - that's why we built so much practically with Stan Winston. But at some point the effects kick in and like any Terminator fan, Charlie wants his mind blown. There's one sequence in particular where we're trying to achieve something that's never been done before. I don't want to talk about it because we haven't been successful yet...
But we're working on it.
It's very interesting working with Conrad Buff every day. First of all he was the editor on Terminator 2 so it's very comforting having his steady hand at the Avid. Long before we ever began we talked about what excited us about making this film. It was the notion of the world after judgment day. We set out to create a world that honored the Terminator mythology but was its own new beginning. Every day I learn from Conrad as he makes the elegant choices of a disciplined filmmaker. It feels great to have his confidence in the movie. I take his opinion very seriously, he provides a daily litmus test for what is worthy of a Terminator film.
Most importantly, Christian and Sam bring power to the rolls of John Connor and Marcus Wright. This is a story of two destinies colliding. Connor is part of a resistance comprised of the ethnicities that make up the globe. This film is so much more that just Los Angeles. It reflects the global crisis of man, all of man versus machine.

Achtung: Die News über Lance Henriksen könnte ein FAKE sein!
Laut einer News von scifimoviepage.com, die leider nicht mehr online ist, soll Lance Henriksen, den wir bereits aus T1 kennen, einen Cameo in T4 haben:
"I'll be back" is what Lance replied when asked if he would be reprising his role in the upcoming Terminator movie. Lance Henriksen is a great actor and was originally going to be cast as the T-800 in the first Terminator film - that was, until Arnie came along. When we asked Lance if he will be coming back he replied "I remember the first Terminator film, it was a true masterpiece and I enjoyed every second of it. Anyway it was a few months ago now when MCG called me up and asked me if I would be interested, I replied "Hell Yeah!". They gave me a small cameo role, I don't want to leak anything but I have the role as a disabled solider. Anyway you can expect a dramatic ending for my character, but yeh I am really happy about all this and MCG is a great guy."
Und bei moviereporter.net gibt es einen Bericht zum Deutschlandbesuch von McG.

Sam Worthington hat sich zu Wort gemeldet:
"From my own eyes and early screening of Terminator Salvation, I can say that what I have seen and what McG is putting together is exciting and a thrilling ride. And with that he is always striving to maintain strong emotional journeys and the truth of this world. I consider the movie beyond, 'alright'. I consider where they are at in the post production process and McG's constant effort, is to make a movie rooted in diehard mythology but also to advance the series. And I believe McG has something to prove and like any good man is willing to risk and has to put himself on the line - to 'man up' and deliver beyond 'alright'!!"
Und am Ende des Textes gibt es noch einen netten Quote:
"If we fucked up, we fucked up, and we will find out May 22nd" Worthington adds.

TheArnoldFans: "Arnold, You're the voice of California. Will your voice also be heard in T4?"
Governor Arnold, perhaps under restraints by McG and the film studio, answers only with the body language and a smile of "You never know." Should we take that as a yes? The tease was promising but it's too soon to get an official answer.
Also, perhaps Arnold doesn't even know yet if he will make the final cut. If the CG work doesn't look good, then Arnold's appearance will be cut. No, I think Arnold is fully aware that his voice WILL be heard in theaters come May of 2009. Because even if we see Roland Kickinger's unsatisfying mug, at least McG will have the intelligence to dub the actor for some Arnold voice-over work. Imagine the sweet irony: Arnold was dubbed in his first film but now he will have the last laugh when his voice will come out of another actor!
