SlashFilm reports that Lucasfilm has filed for six possible titles for Indiana Jones 4 with the MPAA. The proposed titles include:
- Indiana Jones and the City of Gods
- Indiana Jones and the Destroyer of Worlds
- Indiana Jones and the Fourth Corner of the Earth
- Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
- Indiana Jones and the Lost City of Gold
- Indiana Jones and the Quest for the Covenant
We'll have to wait and see if Steven Spielberg and George Lucas go with one of these titles or something completely different.

Wenn es stimmt wäre es schon der Hammer. In Transformers war er ja nicht schlecht,
und auch Disturbia soll nicht übel sein. Außerdem schwärmt Spielberg ja förmlich für
ihn. Ich denke aber schon das ein wenig Übertreibung im Artikel ist.

Ja, das denke ich auch, zumal ich der tv14 keine tiefgründige Recherche zutraue. Ich war außerdem überrascht zu lesen, dass Indys Sohn in dem Film vorkommen soll ("Filmvater")?! |

The title of the new Indiana Jones adventure, now in production under the direction of Steven Spielberg, is Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, it was revealed today by actor Shia LaBeouf. LaBeouf, who stars in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull with Harrison Ford, Cate Blanchett, Karen Allen, Ray Winstone and John Hurt, announced the title during today's MTV Video Music Awards, which were broadcast live from Las Vegas.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is a Lucasfilm Ltd. and is being distributed by Paramount Pictures. It will be released in the U.S. and simultaneously in most territories worldwide on Thursday, May 22, 2008. Frank Marshall returns as producer, with Kathleen Kennedy joining George Lucas as executive producer.

Wie die New York Post meldet hat ein Statist - Tyler Nelson seinen Geheimhaltungsvertrag nicht eingehalten. Der besagte Statist der als „tanzender russischer Soldat“ gecastet worden war, gab der Zeitung seiner Heimatstadt, Edmond Sun in Oklahoma, ein Interview, in dem er zahlreiche Story-teile des Top-Secret-Projects enthüllte.
Spielberg soll sehr aufgebracht über das "Statisten-Plappermaul" gewesen sein und hat nun schlussendlich seine Szenen aus "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystall Skull" herausschneiden lassen.
Hier an dieser Stelle wird natürlich nicht erwähnt, was der Statist verraten hat, das müsst ihr wenn ihr das wirklich wissen wollt, bei der New York Post direkt nachlesen.

Indiana Jones 4: Die Geschichte
Trotz hoher Geheimhaltungsstufe sind jetzt erste Details zum Inhalt des Films bekannt.
Die Besetzung steht fest, doch was uns bis jetzt bei "Indiana Jones und das Königreich des Kristallschädels" fehlt, ist die Geschichte!
Die sollte so lange als möglich geheim bleiben, dennoch sind nun Hinweise zur Handlung durchgesickert: So zum Beispiel, dass es dieses Mal zurück geht in das Jahr 1957, mitten in die Zeit des Kalten Krieges. Dr. Jones ist unterwegs in die abgelegendsten Gebiete von New Mexico, Connecticut, Mexiko und dem Dschungel Perus, um dort nach antiken Schätzen mit überirdischen Kräften zu suchen.
Erschwert wird seine Arbeit durch zwei unfreiwillige Begleiter: Einem weiteren Archäologen (Ray Winstone) und der sowjetischen Agentin Spalko, die beide großes Interesse am Kristallschädel haben.
Die ganze Geschichte gibt es ab dem 22. Mai 2008 im Kino.

Premiere has posted a new interview with John Hurt, who is believed to be playing the father of Karen Allen's Marion Ravenwood (he just grinned in the interview when asked) in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, opening May 22. Here's a clip:
They shot as much as they possibly could, but they had some massive blue screens. There will be CGI, but it's based on a lot of the stuff that we shot, so it's not pure CGI. It's overlayed and so on. Steven does shoot as much as he possibly can and that's impressive. I mean we shot on five major Hollywood studios. We shot at Downey, Sony, Paramount, Warners, and Universal, either in their studios or the outside lots. We'd do two days here, then trot off and do a week there and then back to this one, while the other sets were being prepared. And the sets were fantastic, full of moving parts and things that all worked. You suddenly realized that you're almost a puppet. You come on and do your bit, and then you're off to the next one.

There's been a metric shitload of recent moving and shaking in regards to the whole HD "format war", which already seems to have Blu-Ray being declared the victor.
If there's any validity to this rumor, it would be just one more whip-crack to the ass of HD-DVD. From the CES show currently taking place in Vegas comes word that INDIANA JONES AND TEH THING WITH TEH KOOKY SKULLS is already being prepped for a Blu release. You can make your own black-and-Blu jokes about Ford's age -- I actually, almost inconceivably, am starting to look forward to the movie, despite the presence of Shia's questionable facial scruff.
Spielberg's flicks aren't covered by Paramount's (apparently no longer) exclusive HD-DVD deal, so the flick will reportedly be hitting the seemingly preferred format later in the year... probably just in time for Christmas. The disc will be certified for THX (wasn't Spielberg a major DTS audio guy?), along with Lionsgate's Blu release for TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY. Looks like that PS3 was a worthwhile purchase after all (for something other than UNCHARTED, anyway).

Indiana Jones Trailer Coming Next Week
Variety has confirmed what we hinted at in early December, 2007, the first trailer for Steven Spielberg's Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull will be hitting theaters and online next week:
Par will attach the first teaser for "Crystal Skull" to fantasy pic "The Spiderwick Chronicles" on Feb. 14, with the spot to hit the Web shortly thereafter. Reason for the delay is that the film only recently wrapped, so much of the material that would go into a memorable trailer just wasn't ready until now. Awareness and anticipation also is already high for the pic, so producers didn't feel the need to show too much too soon.
"In the case of Indiana Jones, he's such a well-known character that it's not like you have to get out there and introduce something new," said Spielberg spokesman Marvin Levy. "You tailor the campaign to the material. We also want to keep a lot of the surprises. That's part of the fun."
